Jannik Sinner produced an incredible comeback to win his first grand Salm title, beating Daniil Medvedev in the Australian Open final on January 28.
The Italian, in his first major final, needed to recover from two sets down to beat Medvedev in sets of 3-6 3-6 6-4 6-4 6-3. In the women’s final a day earlier, favourite Aryna Sabalenka saw off Zheng Qinwen to successfully defend her title.
