Patti Smith Makes Bold Reference to Taylor Swift Song After Being Name-Dropped on Pop Star’s Latest Album
The 77-year-old musician and poet recently put on a show in Dublin, Ireland, when she referenced Swift’s latest album, In fan-captured footage of Smith’s recent performance, she told the audience “I’m no Dylan Thomas, but I am Patti Smith,” prompting a roar of cheers from the crowd. “ICONIC LMAO,” one fan wrote after seeing the clip of Smith, while someone else labeled her a “Queen” for the reference to Swift. Talking to Instagram to share a photo of herself reading a work by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, Smith wrote, “This is saying I was moved to be mentioned in the company of the great Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.”
