Whoopi Goldberg gets emotional and reveals what nearly led to her death

Whoopi Goldberg celebrated actress and EGOT winner, has revealed a raw and revealing look at her past struggles with cocaine addiction in her upcoming memoir, ‘Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me’.The memoir, due out May 7, offers an intimate account of Goldberg’s journey through fame, success and personal turmoil.

In his memoir, Goldberg reflects on her early encounters with drugs, admitting to experimenting with cocaine amid the lure of Hollywood glitz and glamour.

Despite her initial belief that she could control her drug use, Goldberg candidly reveals how cocaine gradually took its toll on her, leading to harrowing experiences of hallucinations and paranoia.

“I was invited to parties where I was greeted at the door with a bowl of Quaaludes from which I could choose whatever I wanted,” the star wrote. “Lines of cocaine were placed on tables and bathroom counters for consumption.”
