Travis Kelce put on the spot for past tweets during New Heights Live show
hosted an amusing segment during their live show “New Heights,” which featured a unique spelling bee centered around Travis’s own social media missteps. The event, part of “The Great Lombaby Games,” pitted an athletic team against an academic team in a battle of wits and sport.
In a critical moment of the competition, Jizzle James, the son of former NFL great Edgerrin James, stepped up to the challenge. Tasked with spelling “squirrel”-a word famously misspelled by Travis himself in a past tweet-James aced the test, securing a win for the athletic team. His success was met with enthusiastic applause and a warm hug from co-host Jason Kelce, who jumped off the stage to congratulate him.
The spelling bee drew inspiration from a series of Travis Kelce’s tweets from 2009 to 2011, which resurfaced last November. Among these was an endearing yet incorrectly spelled tweet about feeding a squirrel, which Travis commented on during the show: “I’m just using Twitter as like a diary. There’s no… I’m just out here saying nonsense. ‘I just gave a squirrel a piece of bread’ and spelled ‘squirrel’ like a jackass.”
