Sad News: Richard Simmons dies at 76, passes away at LA Residence
Richard Simmons has passed away at the age of 76, reportedly at his residence in Los Angeles.
According to ABC News, Simmons’ death occurred on Saturday, following a call to the Los Angeles Police Department from his housekeeper. Authorities have indicated that Simmons likely died of natural causes, and no foul play is suspected.
The news comes just one day after Simmons celebrated his 76th birthday, having expressed gratitude to fans on Facebook for their messages of support.
In his post, he wrote, “Thank you…I never got so many messages about my birthday in my life! I am sitting here writing emails. Have a most beautiful rest of your Friday. Love, Richard.”
Renowned for his energetic presence in the 1970s and 80s through gyms and fitness videos, passed away at his home in Los Angeles.
Simmons garnered a devoted following for his infectious enthusiasm and positive approach to fitness before stepping back from public life in later years.
