Sad News: Murder probe as 19-year-old dies after Washwood Heath shooting

The suspects have since been released on bail while police enquiries continue. A third man, 25, who was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday, has been released without charge.

Mr Ali’s family paid an emotional tribute to the tragic teenager this afternoon. They said his dreams were “boundless” and that he brought “warmth” to their lives.

In a joint statement, his family said: “In loving memory of Riyan Ali, a young man, whose light shone brightly in the lives of everyone who knew him. At just 19, he was a source of joy, laughter, and inspiration for his family and friends.

“His kindness, curiosity, and unwavering spirit, touched hearts and created cherished memories that will forever resonate. He had a unique ability to uplift those around him, always ready with a smile or a listening ear.

“Whether pursuing his passions or sharing moments with loved ones, he embraced life with enthusiasm and grace. His dreams were as boundless as his potential and he approached each day with a sense of adventure.

“Though his time with us was far too short, his legacy of love, compassion and courage will endure in the hearts of his family. We will remember him not only for his achievements, but for the warmth he brought into our lives.
