Patrick Mahomes’ new teammate’s skills have him impressed: The athletic ability is unreal
As the 2024 season draws near, the addition of Rees-Zammit and the resulting roster changes have Mahomes feeling optimistic. The increased competition within the practice squad has set the stage for an exciting season ahead.Mahomes also pointed out that Rees-Zammit’s ultimate test will be in real games. While the former rugby player has the necessary toughness for the NFL, Mahomes stressed that he needs to learn how to create space and utilize his athletic skills in football.
“I think what’s been the best part about him is he works his tail off man,” Mahomes noted.”He understands he needs to get better, he needs to continue to work. But the athletic ability is unreal. I mean, 24 miles per hour, wherever they clocked him at rugby, is real. My boy, he’s fast and it’s just about him learning football compared to rugby.”
Mahomes also highlighted the team’s renewed hunger for another Super Bowl victory, with new players pushing the veterans to improve even more.
