FOX Sports confirmed Brees’ appointment on Friday, releasing a highlight reel of his career achievements, and the announcement drew Brady’s attention, and he responded with a brief but notable statement online.
The former New Orleans Saints quarterback completed 67.7% of his passes, ranking third all-time behind Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa, as he went on to conclude his 20-season career with 80,358 passing yards and 571 touchdowns.
The Super Bowl XLIV MVP is recognized as one of the NFL’s most productive quarterbacks in both statistics and leadership, and beginning next week, he will call games alongside FOX play-by-play announcer Adam Amin.
“I appreciate the opportunity FOX has given me in the booth,” Brees said. “And with their team.
“I hope my passion for this game is reflected in the knowledge and insight I provide to fans each Sunday.”
