Finding out that this “was tough on” Jack, Benjamin and Vivian felt like “a stake through the heart,” Brady remembered. “There’s some things as a parent you f–k up,” the former quarterback said.
“And you don’t realize until after. Like, ugh.” While the athlete thought the jokes regarding him were “so fun,” he “didn’t like the way that” other quips “affected [his] kids.”
The former New England Patriots star added, “It’s the hardest part about like, the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize, ‘I wouldn’t do that again,’ because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.”
However, Brady clarified last year that his error in judgment will make him a “better” parent going forward.
“You don’t see the full picture all of the time,” the Fox Sports commentator explained at the time. “It’s a good lesson for me.”
