Even though we won’t see Team USA and Simone Biles competing until August 1 they are still celebrating their gold medal and are the talk of the Olympic world.
Tuesday saw them dominate the women’s team all-around event posting a score of 171.296. A mark that was well above Italy who won silver with a 165.494 score and Brazil who nabbed bronze with a 164.497.
However, the win led to quite a few amazing moments for Biles and the team. As a unit, that marked the first time since the 2016 Rio Olympics that the team was on the podium for this event.
For Biles, it was a historic gold medal. The 27-year-old became the winningest gymnast in Team USA history with eight career Olympic medals, and unlike at the Tokyo Olympics, she was able to do so in front of her family and husband.
