Simone Biles went off on critics of her husband Jonathan Owens.
The Bears safety posted a heartfelt message on Instagram to Biles after her gold medal win in the all-round team gymnastics event, writing “Witnessing history every time you step on the mat.
Congrats baby on becoming the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history!!!! Just wow!!!! 8 of them!!!!! So thankful I was there to see it.”
Fans immediately ripped Owens, who wore his wife’s medal around his neck, in the comments for allegedly stealing Biles’ spotlight. “WHY do u have the medal on there is NO REASON,” one Instagram user wrote.
“why he holding it like he won it,” another commenter said.
“That’s Simone’s gold medal you’re holding, not yours my guy,” a third person said on the post.
