Before Patrick Mahomes was even born, his mother, Randi Mahomes, would go to the church in Troup, about 20 miles Southeast from her home in Tyler, every Sunday and Wednesday with her neighbors, praying that when she has kids, this is exactly what she will teach them.

Fast forward to her becoming a mother of Patrick Mahomes, Mia, and Jackson, and the lessons continued. Her greatest achievement? “I love seeing Patrick still do that.”

It did not matter if she was working till 2 in the morning as an event planner, she would have everyone ready to go to the church next morning as she believed “If I couldn’t teach them something being a mom, maybe they would hear it in church.”

And this habit has continued. Remember how the Kansas city chiefs quarterback would bow down to his knees and pray before every game? This is, in fact, a personal tradition he has created since his high school years where he would pray for two hours before taking on the field.

During his pre-game press conference for Super Bowl LVIII, he also gave glory to God, mentioning how “He has a role in everything I do.” As for Randi, she has mentioned “I just pray that God protects them (every team playing).” And now, she has another reminder to the world, showing her deeply rooted belief.
