Kansas city chiefs head coach Andy Reid spoke to reporters on Wednesday, discussing the plans at running back after Isiah Pacheco’s injury.
“We’ll just see how he (Isiah Pacheco) is moving around,” said Reid, “(He’s) a tough kid (and) there was a point there where he wanted to go back in, and I wouldn’t let him. But that’s how he’s wired, you’d have to cut his leg off to stop him (chuckles).”
Pacheco’s injury opens the door again for Kareem Hunt to assume the lead running back role, as Reid addressed his candidacy for the role.
“Probably in better shape. Just overall, better shape,” said Reid, “Not that he (Kareem Hunt) was in terrible shape before, but he’s been – he’s had a year to do it and kind of get back into the swing after having a little bit of a lay off there.”
Another option for a bigger opportunity is Elijah Mitchell, who hasn’t been active this season after signing with the Chiefs in the offseason.
