“I was like, I have so much privilege. I’m a nepo baby,” she continued, sharing that she “had so much insecurity around that.”

Phoebe also shared with Sophia, 23, that her parents were “really cautious” at first when she told them she planned to start Phia their sustainable fashion platform. “ ‘Are you sure you wanna do this?’ ” Phoebe recalled her dad asking her.

No matter what, both her parents insisted that she finish her degree first, which Phoebe is aware is “so funny” since her dad famously dropped out of Harvard University for Microsoft.

Phoebe added that she doesn’t like to think in terms of failure or mistakes, emphasizing that she believes it’s important to remember that you can always make a change if something isn’t working.

“A lot of times, I think of things through the lens of there’s no sunken cost,” she explained. “It’s easy to look back and think we study these different subjects, law, human biology, that now don’t really necessarily relate exactly to what we’re working on when it comes to fashion tech.

And I think it’s also important for people to realize you can always change direction. You can always immediately decide to do something completely different than what you’re doing at that current moment.”
