The sneakers feature a mesh upper and leather shell, finished with a Vibram sole, created exclusively for CLAE. Vibram is best-known in the fitness space for its high-performance rubber soles, designed for stability, traction and comfort (you probably also recognize the Vibram name from the brand’s viral five-finger.
In a statement provided exclusively to Variety, CLAE CEO Jim Bartholet says the brand is “appreciative” to see Bezos discovering their shoes, adding diplomatically that he is “grateful whenever new customers find us for any reason, be it sustainability, style, or function.”
CLAE now offers a range of shoes for both athletic and leisure wear, with a focus on “refined and classic silhouettes” offering “minimalist and timeless pieces that evolve and endure,” per a description from the brand.
