Sad News: Vanessa Williams Quietly Divorced Jim Skrip in 2021: ‘I’m in Love with Life and Having Options’

“I’m doing what I love, and I’m in love with life,” she says, when asked if she’s currently in love.

“There is not one person that I’m in love with, but I’m in love with everybody.”“He happened to be traveling alone and happened to know who I was but wasn’t a super fan.”

At their wedding they paid tribute to the location of their meet-cute. “I felt like an Egyptian goddess and that was exactly the theme I was going for,” Williams told PEOPLE at the time.

williams a mother of four was previously married to Roman Hervey II from 1987 to 1997, with whom she shares children Melanie, 37, Jillian, 35, and Devin, 31, as well as NBA star Rick Fox from 1999 to 2004, with whom she shares youngest daughter Sasha, now 24.

“I said, ‘Would you play my bodyguard?’ And he’s like, ‘Sure.’ So he shows up and everyone’s like, ‘Oh my God, they’re divorced, but they’re playing together in Ugly Betty’,” she says.

“That’s a perfect example of the past, the present, the personal, the business, the show business, working together, and knowing that can all be synchronistically aligned and work.”
