Patrick Mahomes Highlights Stunning Component of Louis Rees-Zammit’s Game
Appearing on the Riggle’s Picks podcast with Kansas City-native Rob Riggle, Mahomes gushed about the former rugby star and discussed his progress over the summer. Rees-Zammit has seen work at a variety of positions, “We’re starting him at running back. He’s going to do a lot of special teams stuff,” Mahomes explained when asked about his new teammate. “He can actually catch…It looks different. He catches it like he’s catching a rugby, but he never drops the football so you don’t complain on it.”
Rees-Zammit has never played American football. Aside from the mental aspect of the game, his technical skill and ability to catch were among his biggest questions as a prospect. If he actually never drops the ball? That opens up a whole new set of possibilities.
