Kenya West has called out the Recording Academy for what he feels was an unfair snub during the 2025 Grammys.

Despite being nominated for Best Rap Song with Ty Dolla $ign for their track “Carnival,” West and his wife, Bianca Censori, were initially denied tickets to the event, leading to his public frustration.

On February 2, West took to Twitter to vent his anger, revealing that he had to fight for five hours and call in favors to secure tickets for the ceremony.

“How could the Grammies nominate me then not give me tickets?” West wrote.

He added that he eventually managed to get passes for the red carpet but had not received tickets to sit inside.

“At that point, I hadn’t started the rampage,” West remarked, hinting at his discontent over the situation. Though he was nominated for the award, West and Censori missed out on taking home the trophy, which ultimately went to Kendrick Lamar for his track “Not Like Us.”

Grammys executive producer Raj Kapoor clarified that West and Censori were not given seating inside the Crypto.com Arena because West wasn’t performing, presenting, or nominated for an award in the televised portion of the event.
