Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice can’t run anymore and makes move to try to save NFL career
Rice was set to become a star beginning in year two, but a high-speed car crash in which he was at fault has put his NFL career in doubt. After an investigation and much speculation, an arrest warrant was issued by Dallas PD on Wednesday. Rice is facing eight charges: six counts of collision involving injury, one count of collision involving injury and one count of aggravated assault.
If Rice is prosecuted to the full extent of the law, he could spend as much as 35 years in prison. That’s unlikely, but he very well may have to serve jail time, which would put his NFL career in jeopardy.Rice has no other choice but to turn himself in, and that’s exactly what he plans to do within the next few hours. The receiver has accepted full responsibility of the crash.
The Chiefs, meanwhile, will have to look hard at selecting a wide receiver in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft in order to mitigate any time on the field that Rice could miss.
